Up to the mountains

Here I go! After visiting so many beaches, I go for the temperate weather. What is so cool about Espirito Santo state is that beaches and mountains are only 40 minutes away. It is so different. Even people are different here. They are all Germans, Italians and Pomerams.

We drove through Domingos Martins city and Pedra Azul (Blue Rock district). Do you want to know why is named this way. Take a look at the picture. The mountain really looks blue with the sunlight. And there is this cool place for rafting too. Awesome!!! :)

Morro Beach

Another one. Told ya there were many beaches. Morro beach is down South in a city called Guarapari. That's the vacation spot of thousands of Brazilians during the summer. Which of course is in January. ;)

Manguinhos beach. So relaxing

As a told ya, Vitoria is an island. There are beaches all around. Manguinhos is a very quite and familiar beach up North. Take a pick!

What a sight!

Wow! Sweet!!! What a view. I told ya :) Right on the end of the bridge. That's Vitoria. And the other side. That's Vila Velha. Isn't something?
If you want to know a bit more about Penha Convent, try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penha_Convent.

Tour to Penha Convent

I was walking at the beach, and then I looked up. There was this little house right on the top of a very high mountain. My host family told me all about it. It is Penha Convent, founded in 1558, when there was nothing around it. Can you imagine it how hard the have worked to build it? Wow!

It is located in Vila Velha, very next to Vitoria. Just cross the 3rd bridge and you are right there. You know what? You should see the view from the Convent. Wonderful. Wait a minute. I will share with ya. :)

Flat Rhiannon goes to the beach

Vitoria is an island. It means there are beautiful beaches everywhere I go. Take a look. This one is called Cost Beach. The water is clean, but a bit cold. Isn't nice? :)

There is my host sister drinking a fresh coconut water. Yep! That's a really fresh coconut. Not brown. And the water is very refreshing, a bit sweet. Would you like to try it?

Check it out my host family in Brazil. Renata, my host sister, is always traveling around. Busy, busy, busy. Paula is Fabio's mom. And he is 2. So cute. And he goes to school already. Host Mom Elcy is always taking care of us.
